Description & Provenance

This is a small specimen with a great deal of presence thanks to its excellent aesthetics. It has a single, elongated, sharply crystallized vesuvianite crystal that stands proudly at a perfect 90° orientation on its matrix. It has the characteristic, deep olive-green coloring for which vesuvianite from Italy is famous (and loved). This beautiful example possesses excellent luster, characteristic vertical striations, as well as a very sharp, smooth, flat termination. It also has great transparency, allowing it to take on a lovely, golden-hued glow with just a little light. This is an excellent example of a rare and coveted species that has all of the hallmark characteristics collectors so desire.
